Big Bads are fictional characters who are examined as the primary antagonist throughout the story itself; they are the polar opposites of the central protagonist itself and virtually have the same amount of appearances than the former does.
While there are some occasions that it's maintaining villainy can be outranked by a Bigger Bad, the Big Bad thoroughly has a much larger significance over the course of it's ongoing circumstances and whose importance in the plot outshines all other villains altogether.
