Full Synopsis

Nicky Haugh is a self-made habitual ambitionist who has lost faith in God due to the previous deaths of his divorced parents and the murder of his associate Keagen McAleese, that Nicky himself committed during their correlative rivalry. In the present year, Nicky has formed Project Ambition - his atheistic philosophical cult - with the purpose of inducing the world into joining his philosophy, which he plots to announce during his cult's centennial ceremony at his fortified fortress, Basiliva of St. Plus X, in Lourdes. Later on, he and his two accompanies, Anthony Brasitus and his nephew Andreas, arrange a meeting with his newly associate Cris Formage, a nihilistic minister, to discuss the final stages of his philosophy. Cris seemly complies, but secretly instructs his cultists to kill Nicky during the meeting. With backup from his accompanies, Nicky thwarts the ambush and vows revenge.

In London, Keagen's younger brother Junior, an adolescent blonde rapper, is struggling to cope with various aspects of his life; his mother Darcy is dying of terminal cancer and his jinxed father Dwayne spends less time with his son due to overtime work. At school, Junior is frequently bullied with only three students supporting him: his little sister Corrine, his best friend Colin Marsh, and newbie classmate Jiemma Carey, whom Junior apparently has a crush on.

After a rap-battle one day, Junior is approached by Jiemma's step-father Alex Scott, the co-founder of an environmental community called "Childs Hill", and invited to join his campaign that operates secret missions for both children and adults. It turns out that Alex and his unit are campaigning against Freddy Winter, an egotistical businessman who is Dwayne's self-absorbed employer, to prevent him from dissolving Childs Hill and hopefully expose his illegal activates. Junior, who abhors Freddy due to his egomaniacal narcissism, agrees to join and spends his time investigating Freddy's corrupt poses alongside Colin and Jiemma.

As time passes, Junior decides to perform his rap talents at Childs Hill's centennial festival and implore the guests to become aware of "Specimen $", Freddy's latest development that Junior managed to extract during his part of the investigation. To sabotage to effort, Freddy spikes Dwayne into disrupting his son's performance that humiliates Junior in the process. After becoming ostracized in school because of this, Junior finds himself estranged towards his father and his friends with the exception of Colin and Jiemma. When Corrine discovers this, she comforts her tearfully despondent brother in his bedroom and takes him to visit their mother in hospital where both implore Junior not to abandon his investigation. Both incarnations are enough to cheer Junior up and provide him with renewed sense of confidence and determination.

Meanwhile, Nicky's storyline explains his past that has recently affected his isolated life. It has been revealed that Nicky was an ex-high ranking member of Childs Hill who went rogue after an indirect conscience originated by Alex had caused Nicky to feel profoundly ostracized by the community. Afterwards, he went on to create Project Ambition and began collaborating with Keagen, unaware that the latter was actually posing as his associate as part of his mission to ascertain his plans. Upon discovering this, he had Keagen captured and personally executed him after an unsuccessful attempt to convert him into joining his philosophy shortly after implying an anecdote about both "ambition" and "limitation".

Eventually, Junior encounters Nicky for the first time when the former, while walking home from school, indirectly gets himself caught in a crossfire between the latter and Cris' cultists; with Nicky killing all of them just moments after an unexpected Junior gets ambushed and mistaken for posing as Nicky's associate. Shortly afterwards, Junior gratefully invites Nicky for cafe where the two protagonists bond over their personal lives. During their discussion, Junior becomes surprised to learn that he and Nicky have a lot in common when it directly becomes clear that both are virtually related due to their interactive relationships and recent family issues. Moreover, Nicky confesses that his isolated life isn't supportive as it is philosophical shortly after explaining his past activities; with Junior learning the truth about Keagen's death in the process. The interaction then culminates with both protagonists supporting the other's commitment to their campaign before pondering over the possibility of facing each other should the circumstances appeal it; at which point they also reaffirm their commitment to their own campaign and will not hesitate to take down the other if necessary.

After the meeting, Junior meets up with Jiemma at his house where the duo plan to infiltrate Freddy's headquarters to learn more about "Specimen $". They carry out their plot the following day and end up discovering that Specimen $ is a chemical that turns out to be a cure for cancer; which soon explains that Freddy is the cause of Darcy's terminal cancer as well as the deaths of countless victims, including Childs Hill's co-founder Patch Adams, who've had previously gained cancer in the process. Having escaped Freddy's henchmen during their capture, Junior and Jiemma head back to Childs Hill where they find the building on fire and Alex himself dead. It was simultaneously occurred that Nicky had gone there to confront Alex over his past betrayal, only to get involved in a gunfight with his tactical unit alongside his accompanies. He went on to find Alex beaten to a bloody pulp, and escaped with the latter just seconds before the building exploded. Nicky then executed Alex at his own request to end his suffering; though not after learning that Cris had orchestrated the building's explosion and that his cultists were disguising as Alex's team the entire time.

When Junior returns home, he finds out that his sister and father (who in the meantime ends up realizing how arrogant and heartless Freddy has been throughout) have been kidnapped by Freddy and taken to Cris' warehouse near Nicky's fortress; it was earlier revealed that Cris and Freddy are working together for their selfish purposes, with Cris plotting retaliation against Nicky while Freddy seeks to prevent Junior from exposing his secret after having recorded his earlier confession that declaims money and power to be more convincing than the law. Left with no other choice, Junior decides that he, Jiemma, and Colin must travel to Lourdes to rescue his family and then arrest Freddy for his treasonous crimes. At the same time, Nicky makes preparations for his speech just after finalizing his philosophy. He then plans to leave Europe afterwards along with his girlfriend Zoe Rattigan, a philanthropist whom he had a one-night stand with just after meeting her in a Starbucks.

In Lourdes, Junior manages to rescue his family with his friend's help before going on to prevent Freddy and his counsel-in-law Trisia Case, a corrupt lawyer, from escaping in their getaway helicopter. He strengthens himself in bringing down Freddy's chopper that launches it's blades straight towards Freddy and Case, killing the latter and injuring the former, who is left dangling on an edge while pleading for his life. After tricking Junior into saving him, Freddy's unsuccessful attempt to shoot Junior at gunpoint ultimately leads to him getting thrown into the ground where he is left to be critically tortured by angry citizens after the others managed to expose Freddy's secret. Junior then leaves to find Cris while Dwayne reunites with the others. Elsewhere, Nicky manages to win over the guests at his speech and soon leaves with Rattigan to their helicopter near Cris' current hideout. When he discovers this, Nicky has a change of heart and quickly leaves to confront and kill Cris shortly following a brutal confrontation. Moments away from departure, he catches Junior approaching towards his position and decides to honor their agreement; though not after he shares one last moment with Rattigan before leaving her behind with his accompanies in his helicopter.

Junior chases Nicky through a meadow outside of his fortress where the two briefly exchange gunfire until the latter lures the former inside his fortress. Thereupon, the two play a tense game of cat-and-mouse in the dark until Junior is caught and held at gunpoint by Nicky. After a personal exchange, Nicky fires his gun and is soon revealed to have been mortally stabbed at his heart after Junior tussled a knife close by. He then delivers a sincere eulogy about his philosophy while he takes the knife out of his chest and collapses, before finding himself approached by an remorseful Junior. With everything settled, both have an heartfelt conversation about their recent activities while emotionally exchanging comfort to the other; A dying Nicky praises Junior for his success while Junior tearfully acknowledges how he had mutual commonality within Nicky more than anyone in his life. Junior then offers a hand and for Nicky to take in own, which he does as he succumbs to his sealed fate and reciprocates in honor of their promise. The two protagonists ultimately share a final, praising reflective together as they bid farewell to each other before Nicky dies peacefully. Junior then carries Nicky's corpse to their separate parties as he reunites with his family and friends while Rattigan approaches Nicky's corpse and mourns his death.

An epilogue cuts to Nicky's funeral that is celebrated in London and attended by Junior, Rattigan, Anthony and Andreas. Afterwards, his will and statement are read out in a recorded video message spoken by Nicky himself; who describes his change of heart in his philosophy before proceeding to give Rattigan his remaining estate, reward his accompanies with various cherished possessions, and grant everything else to Junior. The aftermath follows Freddy getting a life imprisonment sentence for his criminal activities, and is later reported to be killed during a prison riot. Alex's wife Margaret Carey became the newly leader of Childs Hill in her husband's honor, and finally Junior is implied to have recouped a good life along with his family, his girlfriend, and best friend. The story officially ends when Junior visits Nicky's grave alongside his friends and family, where he addresses to his fallen rival before leaving.

In a mid-credits scene, Junior romantically confers with Jiemma during their time with his family and Colin. In a post-credits scene, Rattigan visits Nicky's grave to lay flowers for him before he, Anthony, and Andreas drink a morbid toast in his honor.
